Training description: Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a comprehensive therapeutic paradigm that looks at the multiplicity of the mind as the base and natural state of being. It may be used in clinical practice to inform case conceptualization, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions. This live webinar seeks to provide a basic overview of the key principles and concepts of IFS to help clinicians explore the internal family system with clients. This training will help foster IFS-informed therapy skills but does not constitute formal IFS training that is required for certification or competency development.

Goal: To provide a general introduction to the development, principles, and concepts of Internal Family Systems to inform clinical service delivery.

Objectives:

a. Participants will be able to articulate the history and development of Internal Family Systems.

b. Participants will be able to recognize the eight C’s of self-leadership.

c. Participants will be able to define the respective roles of the managers, firefighters, and exiles as they operate within the internal family system.

d. Participants will be able to engage in a brief conceptualization using a vignette to demonstrate understanding of core principles.
