Program Description:  Attendees will gain knowledge of the five emerging stages of Black grief: despair, self-blame, move to action, endurance, and survival. Attendees will gain knowledge about the impact of Disenfranchised grief and better identify and apply interventions in regards to traumatic experiences for historically marginalized populations. This training will focus on Asian-American, Black, and Indigenous populations.

Goals: Gain knowledge about the impact of Disenfranchised grief and better identify and apply interventions in regards to traumatic experiences for historically marginalized populations.

Objectives: 

-Recognize and label five stages of Black Grief

-Recognize and understand the stigma of Disenfranchised grief

-Have better understanding of how the BIPOC community uses communal grief practices 

-Recognize collective survival strategies that communities have used to endure, heal and rebuild from communal losses and grief
