Training Description

This training is a comprehensive program designed to foster a deep understanding of social and racial issues, equipping mental health clinicians with the knowledge and skills to actively contribute to a more just and inclusive society. This training explores the historical context of systemic injustices, examines contemporary challenges, and promotes dialogue around diversity, equity, and inclusion.

 

Goal:

·       Expand knowledge, understanding, and awareness regarding how social and racial justice interplay with in the mental health framework.

 

Objectives:

·       Gain understanding of the historical and current systemic concerns for BIPOC clients/communities

·       Identify barriers to addressing social justice/race in our work

·       Gain understanding of the role of intersectionality in system involvement, beliefs, and views of mental health

·       Identify challenges/changes needed within our systems to meet the needs of BIPOC communities
